Motivation

By | 20 March, 2012

Ughhh….yeah I said it.  After a week of wondering around to other blogs in the MWY community and the forums.  Reading about everyone’s progress AND a week-end of minimal progress and no subscriptions…I was a little down…sad face 🙁

It looked like everyone was making such progress, developing freebies or WSO’s and getting the sought after subscriber…

A lot of people were talking about Time management, time management tools, and how efficient they were becoming (I wanna be efficient too).  I felt like a loser…lol,  Well that is a little strong.  I felt behind struggling with time management.  Well…I am old.. hee hee (how old I look and how old I really am does not match up — back on track).  I know enough about myself to know that I can get extremely distracted and go into too many directions…become scattered.  I knew if I focused then I could reach my goals.  It is possible.

While in my little rut I somehow came across this video:

How great is that?…I felt like a little message had been sent to me.  I had been taking some of the steps described in the 1000% success formula (please note – I do not know who the people who are connected to the url across the video).

Here are the 7 steps to the 1000% formula:

Step 1 – Golden Hour
1st hour of the day is called the Golden hour.
This is the time where you read uplifting, motivational, or works related to your field.

Step 2 – Time Management
2nd hour of the day is the to do list hour.
This is the time to make a list of what you have to do.

Step 3 – Organize To Do List.
Organize the to-do list by priority.
What is 1st, 2nd, 3rd , 4th, etc in importance.

Step 4 – One Thing at a Time
Start going down your to-do list.  Start taking care of priortity one and work your way down your list.

Step 5 – Mobile University
Listen to audio tapes in your car.
This makes your car a mobile learning machines and gives you an added opportunity to gain additional knowledge.

Step 6 – Magic question
1. What did I do right?
2. What would I do differently next time?
Write down the answers to each of these questions to ingrain them into your subconscious.  Therefore bring about new outcomes.

Step 7 – Million Dollar Treatment
Treat everyone as a million dollar customer.
Treat family and friends as the most important people in the world.

Summary – These simple steps will bring about a 1/2 percent change each day. These changes add up to a 3.5% change a week.  A year later it will be a 182% change.  The next thing you know… you have a 1000% change.

The one profound message…SILVER LINING ALERT…changes do not happen over night…they can though.  Here is my best analogy.  When going up a flight of stairs, some run up and some take sprints, while others take one step at a time.  Everyone at their own pace.  Each step must be taken and as long as you continue to take them you will reach the top.  So I keep that in mind as I take each step.  As I integrate this success formula into my life…to the point where it is the natural flow of my life.

This little videos I accidentally stumbled upon, reminded me that I was on the right path.  I had hap-hazardly stumbled upon and was starting to integrate most of these steps into my life.  I had a lot of old habits to change.  Yet each step in the right direction, was the right step.  So don’t be discourage if you are going up the staircase slower…different parts of the staircase will take different people longer to navigate and just because someone seem to be sprinting now, it does not mean you are slow or moving in the wrong direction.  So go your own pace..the important part is to keep going.

I love feedback and comments so let me know what you think about this latest post!

  • Hi Sylvia,

This is a really great post… I like that you’re honest with your thoughts and feelings – this type of honesty helps connect with people who are reading your blog.

The outline of information you’ve posted is fantastic! I found myself actually having a couple of ‘aha’ moments and taking away some very useful pieces of information. Obviously if you know me you know I always advocate using a ‘to-d0’ list, but I’m also someone who also tries to learn something new and valuable every single day, because we have to learn to earn and grow.

Finally I believe that treading everyone like a million dollar customer is what makes people grow successful in business – there’s really nothing as powerful that you can do as treating everyone like they are a customer – plain and simple. This ensures that even those who don’t buy or who aren’t ready to buy will at least remember how you treated them. This is also excellent for referrals, since people will surely talk about you if you treated them so well.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Hey Sylvia
You have a nice blog post here but don’t feel like a loser even if others from MWY community got subscribers or create they first WSO. Take it easy and you will be there.
Some advice, your opt in form for MIND MAP is hart to see because match with your blog color so better change the form color and in this way will jump in your readers eyes when they land on your blog.

  • Hi Sylvia,
What a great post! I want to tell you that I really face the same things as you – I get really distracted, I have too many habits to change, I feel that everybody is making progress while I”m left behind. But you summered it beautifully –
Everybody has it own phase – as long as you keep moving toward your goals, you’ll get there!
    Cheers,
    Michal

      Hi Mikey,
Thank you so much for your comment. Yes becoming scattered is a continual battle that I have. We will need to stay in touch as we conquer it or transform it to our advantage.
      To our success!

  • Hi Sylvia
Great post.I don’t think anyone (you and me included) should be despondent because they see – or think they see – other people making faster progress.
The fact is everyone moves at a different pace and all you need to do is look at your blog to see the progress you are making – you’re out there, you have a presence and you have something to say.
Over time, people will find your blog and read what you have to say and some will make a connection with you.
Just keep doing the stuff you need to do to make that happen. Keep rolling!
    Brad
